2L1 has just made a major upgrade to our website security, ensured all our computers are protected and invested in new IT equipment.

We relied on our tech-partner Webclinic, to help us with the complicated details and we now feel we are well-protected against today’s IT threats.

We activated – SSL protection on our website.
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) provides a secure link so confidential information and sensitive data can be transmitted online. When a site uses an HTTPS secure connection with SSL certificate, a small padlock appears on the web browser address bar. Communicating through the 2L1 website is now safer than ever.

We updated – preventive and corrective maintenance.
All 2L1 IT equipment, such as computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones, was given a thorough check-up to ensure online and offline security, making them safer for the work they have to do.

We invested – Equipment
Webclinic arranged special rates for 2L1 to acquire faster more reliable machines that can keep pace with the evolution in software demands that we need to provide our services.

These investments will mean our communications remain secure and our services as fast as possible.

2017 once again sees 2L1 Soluções Linguísticas sponsoring the ‘English speaking competition’ at our local primary school here in Sapataria.

This year, following changes to the primary school syllabus, we are going to award prizes to the best pupils in English in the 3rd and 4th grades to motivate them make that extra effort to improve their spoken English skills that can help them through the rest of their schooling and on into higher education or employment.

As a language company, 2L1 understands the needs for language mastery and is proud to sponsor the ‘English speaking competition’ once again this year.

2L1 Soluções Linguísticas is proud to renew its commitment to pay all its suppliers and service providers as quickly as possible. Late or delayed payments is a serious problem for many small and medium enterprises and can be debilitating for micro companies and the self-employed if they have to wait months to get paid. Nobody wins with later payments and everybody wins with paying bills on time or even before they are due.

2L1 has just received its new seal of commitment under the Portuguese ‘Compromisso Pagamento Pontual’ scheme to pay all its bills within 30 days.

There are currently more than 850 companies in Portugal that have signed up to this commitment, including some of our own clients and suppliers.

We hope many more companies will join this free initiative to help change the country’s culture of late payment and make economy more competitive and agile.

2L1 was one again proud to sponsor the English-speaking contest at Sapataria Primary School during the 2016/17 academic year.

There was a new teacher this year, but she was very enthusiastic after she heard how we wanted to motivate young learners with school prizes.

On this occasion, as English classes were restricted to 3rd and 4th grade pupils, prizes were only awarded to these students.

What really scared us though this year was a major set-back in May, when we heard that the company that makes our unique acrylic trophies had technical problems and they would not be able to make our prizes on time. They have, though, promised to send them straight to the school as soon as the machinery allows.

2L1 certainly did not want the pupils’ effort to go unrewarded so we tracked down a retired English teacher in the Algarve who writes children’s stories and managed to get two dedicated, autographed copies of one of her books called “Freda and Fernando on the River Tagus” sent up just in time for the prize ceremony.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Lia and Leandro, the two winners of the first prizes as well as the four runners-up who all made a great effort over the year to improve their English. Credit must also go to Sra Teacher who made it all possible as well as our heartfelt thanks to Sheila Ward, the author of the children’s book for her help and generosity. 2L1 is trying to encourage Sheila Ward to come to the Sapataria Primary School at the beginning of the next school year to read one of her books, which we are sure the kids, and their parents, will all enjoy.

2L1 sponsored the 2014 and 2015 “English Speaking Competitions” at the local primary school in Sapataria, near our offices. Prizes were awarded to the best English language pupils in years 1 to 4 which were a great incentive for all the youngsters who made a huge effort to learn to speak English. The award ceremonies were always followed by cakes and sweets made by the local pasty shop.
